Why are the rules different for McCarron and Ron Schoen (current administrator for the
pension trust)? Why where they vested after five years of service, and i don't mean with
the new law they were. Vested at five years, long ago!!!!
Why don't they give out the pension books more readily????? Why don’t they explain
pension rights and benefits on their web sit???
How many organizers and business agents know what a summary plans description (pension
booklet)? Specially organizers that go out and recruit people. If you ask any of them to
give you a low down on how the pension works, they don't know what to tell you. Some of
the organizers have never even seen a pension booklet!!!
If the pension plan in southern California has done so well, then why have they only give
a 5% increase to the retirees????
Thanks to the present administrators information he has certified me that as long as
McCarron has held the secretary/treasurer position and chairman of the pension trust, he
has never give retirees and increase!!!! Thanks to Ron Schoen's information, he states
that the trustees have attempted to issue bonus checks to the retirees whenever financial
conditions warrant it.
Do any of you? Members out there believe this????????
Why the large increase for those who work more than 1800 hours a year??? Because they
business
reps and agents are the ones working more than 1800 hours a year!!!! How many workers work
more than 1800 hours a year???? Maybe 10% and 5% of the 10% are superintendents!!!!!!
Only the lackeys will take advantage of this increase!!!!!!
Why haven't they informed the members of the new pension law that took effect on 1/1/99,
in which
only 5 years pension credits are required to become vested!!!! Ron Schoen states in a
letter to me that they have sent an announcement out regarding the 5 years vesting and
that we should soon be receiving it by mail if we have already done so. How can he state
that the announcements went out when no one i know has received 1t?????
It is recommended that you write your congressman if you encounter any problems with your
pension benefits. Unfortunately there are some politicians that receive financial
contributions from the carpenters and will does not be able to help you. A perfect example
is senator Dianne Feinstein whose husband is the pensions trust's financial advisor,
earning $7.8 million in 1997. What did the retirees get????
A measly 5% raise!!!!! I wonder what senator Fienstein's comments is in regards to this
injustice is???? Wouldn't this also be a conflict of interest????
Unfortunately the department of justice and the u. S. Department of labor/pension welfare
benefits
administration are useless!!!!! They seem to forget that our taxes go to pay their
salaries. Don't ever
give up the fight, there is always hope that one-day things will change and justice will
prevail?
If we the workers believe the union can work for us, we need to work to remove McCarron
and his neutered lackeys. McCarron is as anti-union as they come!!! Right now the
union is a McCarron corporation!! ! !! >we need more of the management to speak out on
behalf of justice. Why don't people like Jesse Martinez speak out against the latest
injustice McCarron has
committed, such as merging local 309 with local 409 out of the district council. Why
doesn't McCarron merge or close down local 1506, especially since most of its workers are
in
Las Vegas. Just check out the dispatch book, it will show how well local 1506 is doing.
The same goes for 2361.
His excuse for the mergers is that he claims the locals are not doing well financially.
He then closes them down and merges.
If most locals are doing so badly why does he make weekly trips from D.C. To California

RICHARD BLUM'S NEW TACTICS----PRIVATE EQUITIES
REPLACEMENT
This is the new Richard (Dick) Blum dream of circumventing disclosure to membership
nationwide and keeping the Good Old Boys happy! A PRIVATE EQUITIES REPLACEMENT allows the
Investment Subcommittee to invest money in any venture they feel, without approval from
the money managers!!!
How long and how much money has been invested in this manner within the last year?
What worries us is, how far will this go?
MIKE MCCARRON TAKES OFFICE FIRES SEVEN ORGANIZERS THAT
WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE CARPENTER ORGANIZERS, BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T CARPENTERS IN THE FIRST
PLACE.
The McCarrons need to stop using our Union as an ATM Machine for the capriciousness.
Our constitution states that in order to become an Organizer you must first be a Union
Carpenter.
Unless Doug has changed our constitution again. Why then were these seven guys that were
fired last Friday, originally hired as Carpenter Organizers. Unionplainfacts asked why
were people like David Young (who was being sued by the members of the garment union in
New York) and Larry O'Brien (who was never involved in any Union activities and was a
superintendent for Raymond and personal buddy of the McCarrons) hired on as organizers.
If Doug $McCarron is a Trustee and the Director for CCCC, why are they putting the blame
on James Bernsen for hiring these guys, when everyone knows that no one gets hired without
Doug's approval.
They are now making Mike look like a hero for firing them, playing the "it was
Bernsen who screwed up" game.

THE RESOLUTION OF $200.00 PER MONTH INCREASE FOR RETIREES
There was a meeting between James Bernsen, Mike McCarron and a few retirees trying to get
the
support of the above mentioned resolution. It turns out that James Bernsen says that the
Fund "Cannot Afford" to pay the retirees this increase, yet it can accommodate
an increase for the Business Agents and Organizers, retroactive all the way back to 1991
at $200.00 per month. Why can they afford this but not giving the retirees an
increase of any kind??? They keep claiming that our Pension Fund is very healthy and
has been getting good returns on its investments. Good enough to pour money into Perini
Corporation, Ron Tutor's company. Also good enough to give millions to Democratic
politicians.
How many members are registered Democrats??? Why should their hard earned money go
towards a party they don't support?

(DOUG'S LITTLE BROTHER)
WHY MANY BELIEVE HE SHOULD NOT BE HOLDING THE CURRENT POSITIONS (Secretary-Treasurer and
Pension Trustee)! MANY BUSINESS AGENTS WE'VE TALKED TO ARE UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS BUT THEIR
SALARIES WON'T LET THEM SPEAK!
WHY WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER DICTATOR IN OUR ORGANIZATION!
1) Mike McCarron has only worked for one company (Raymond
Interiors). Raymond is very
McCarron friendly with the whole family, they always have been.
2) Mike McCarron has not obtained any of his positions through a democratic voting
process. One
Man, One Vote has never been applied in his case, only his big brothers finger to appoint
him in all the positions he has held (President of Local 1506 and President of the
District Council). One of Mike's quotations: "If you don't like what we do, get in
line to sue the Brotherhood".
3) Mike McCarron has held these positions because his brother Doug has many that act more
like
Mercenaries rather than Union Leaders. Doug makes sure that he keeps their pockets full so
they can all do as he says.
4) Mike McCarron has used illegal dirty tactics to sign up non-union contractors such as
Best Interiors who's signing up with the Union was strictly a business
decision. This is why they tried making Mike a hero, they don't talk about the
dirty tactics and the times he had the companies' superintendents stalked, followed and
harassed.
5) Mike McCarron claims he sends real craftsmen to the job sites. How many members of 1506
and 2361 have finished apprenticeship training??? How many organizers recruit non-union
people and explain to them what the Union Benefits are or are not for that matter??? Why
doesn't Mike make sure these organizers do this and make sure that they all have their
Pension Booklets. Would the McCarron family appreciate if some of the members stalked
their family because they use our money to bail out their pals????
6) Mike McCarron at the last 1506 meeting, did not permit one of its members to speak
about the
resolution that has been passed at other locals. This resolution would give retirees an
increase of
$200.00 per month. Instead Mike made him look like a fool telling him that it was not the
appropriate time to speak. This is the type of person that represents our Pension Fund!
7) How many members and Business Agents want this type of Dictatorship in our Union? It is
pretty
much guaranteed that in democratic election Mike would be voted as the District Council's
janitor.
8) What will be the salaries of the new appointees??? Will Mike make more money than
James
Bernsen made?? Will he buy an even bigger home in a fancier neighborhood??? Who will write
the
Secretary-Treasurers report in the CARPENTER magazine?? Does Mike McCarron have the
capacity to write this report or will he have someone do it for him??? How will Mike
handle himself at the meetings?? Will he get some training as to how to speak in public???
He does not do very well right now??? What does Mike tell his friends and family when
asked how he's climbed the Union ladder of success?? Will he say it is because of his big

proves that this was a FAKE nomination. They just went through the motions.

John Marco, Consultant/Investor from Chicago put out a secret report of 81 pages before
congress asking to allow the investment of pension and annuity fund into foreign
investments, including Red China, where the prisoners are beaten regularly as they
perform the happy task of underbidding the world market. It seems like we should expect
soon, is rice as our national diet along with rikshaws for everybody.

Marco Consultant/Investing of Chicago recently sent the financial report to the Membership
of NYDC. John conveniently backed up the figures on reporting from fiscal to annual,
hiding the fact that Marco only got a return of $47 million on a $1.3 Billion investment,
which shows he must have a blabbering in his head that rattles constantly depicting that
he must think the membership cannot hear his stupidity. Lot's of luck John.. New York
members will see you in court.
Doesn't McCarron realize that he might one day end up like Paul Miller, who was
Secretary -Treasurer of the Southern California District Council and is now a Security
Guard for a Parking Lot. McCarron offered him a job as a janitor for the District Council.

RESOLUTION FOR $200 INCREASE FOR
RETIREES.
Why is it so easy for the management to give themselves a pension raise, but so difficult
to get this $200 a month increase for retirees?
Why is the leadership making it so difficult for this resolution submitted by Local 944,
to be passed??
Why don't they inform all retirees that this resolution is trying to be passed? Because if
they did they know it would go through unanimously!

You need to have the Administration workers clean up their act. All they do is make
mistake after mistake. The members deserve to be treated with the upmost
professionalism and accuracy. This is our Pension we're talking about.
You need to start with the ADMINISTRATOR who keeps sticking his foot in his mouth.
How dare he accuse a member that is disabled and receiving Social Security Benefits,
that he is not disabled. Not to mention that he has doubted the Social Security
Administration and accused the SSA Supervisor that he is this members family member and
would not speak to him about information needed for this member to receive back benefits.
He has also said publicly that this member is harassing his employees and that this
member has a website that is used to harass him and the leadership and the Pension
Trust. He said this today 8/25/99 in the Simi Valley Courthouse in front of Judge Gary
Barrett. The member is Horacio Grana and the not very smart Administrator is Ronald
Schoen. Ronald Schoen has not learned from his past mistakes that have cost the
Pension Trust $200,000 to settle a harassment suit, filed by a former employee a few
years ago.
Isn't Doug $McCarron embarrassed to have someone like Schoen, who hates union
activities and does not believe in the Freedom of Speech.
We're not all like Ron Schoen who only knows how to say YES to $McCarron and Tutor.
We don't have to say things behind these to shysters back, like he does when he calls
Tutor a (MAFIOSO).

HORACIO'S PREDICTION COMES TRUE
Letters have gone out to all Delegates announcing James Bernsen retirement. Bernsen is
suggesting that Mike McCarron be voted in as Secretary Treasurer of the
So. California District Council.
Why are they electing someone that during his work hours with the union, did his Police
Reserve training. Is Mike a real union man, or > is he a cop at heart? Is this the type
of
people we want running our pension fund???

HAVING JUDGE KENNETH CONBOY AS INVESTIGATIONS AND REVIEW OFFICER IS LIKE HAVING THE FOX
LOOKING OUT AFTER THE CHICKENS.
TO OBTAIN OUR UNION DEMOCRACY, BOTH CONBOY AND MCCARRON NEED TO BE REMOVED.
Judge Conboy was also the one appointed by the court as the Investigations and Review
Officer in charge the Paschal McGuiness case, yet after being found guilty, Paschal
McGuiness was able to hold a position in the Building Trades in DC. According to the
rules, when a union officer is convicted of criminal acts, he or she is not able to be
involved in any type of union activities as an officer for thirteen (13) years. This is
how our democracy works.
Judge Conboy has been paid millions of dollars to head these investigations, do you think
he'll get rid of his milk cow. The longer he puts it off the better it is for his pocket.
In charges filed in court in April of 1997, it was asked that judge Kenneth Conboy's
appointment be revoked and that he should be replaced with an impartial court appointed
IRO. That did not happen.
Let's put the pressure on Conboy while he is laughing all the way to the bank. Let's make
this rally as successful as the one in February. Be there.
